This is just one tragedy in a world of tragedies. We cannot comprehend the pain of all of the tragedies, so most of us pick one or two to remember, or ignore them all.
Socialists are appalled by all of them. The only way to end our horror is to end the economic system and its attendant social structures which dehumanize us all so that we can live amidst the horror. We can be disabled by the scale of the horror, or we can enable ourselves. We can build a society fit for humanity: Socialism.
